Spicy Pork Bulgogi
The spicy pork bulgogi was excellent. Just enough spice without too much heat. The kimchi was not over powering. The mixed satay appetizer was very good as well. Ashley did a great job taking care of us. Food and service top notch, as always.
SURF & TURF ROLL
This dish was amazing. The seafood is incredibly fresh and the turf was extremely tender and delicious I love everything I've tried here!
I order this almost every time we dine at Rattan Bistro. It is delicious, and pairs beautifully with an appetizer or soup.
So so so so so so so so so so good!
Miso Glazed Chilean Seabass
This was one of the most delicious preparations of seabass I've ever had. The glaze on the fish together with the vegetable comination - superb!
The chirashi was amazing. Exquisite sashimi, beautifully arranged, and a generous assortment of cuts including a truly excellent mid-fatty tuna that seemed to melt in my mouth. I really can't think of a better way to ring in the new year!
This was so delicious ! I'm not really a fan of lamb/goat because the strong wild taste but these were amazing and flavorful !!!!
Aburi Salmon (Toro 2 pieces)
My favorite bite of Fish in the City!
Miso Glazed Chilean Seabass
I visited this restaurant for Houston restaurant week. What a delicious delight. The sea bass was cooked to perfection as well as the veggies served with it. Not to mention that it was a very generous portion. When you go, you must try the mango panna cotta dessert. Scrumptious. This should be their signature dessert. I will definitely become a regular at Rattan.
Three-Course Prix-Fixe Dinner
We went here for the dinner Houston Restaurant Week menu but we've had friends rave about this place for quite some time and have been wanting to try it. The menu had an awesome selection of food and we cleaned off ever plate we received. For the first course we got the chicken satay and crispy shrimp, which both were phenomenal and a perfect portion for an appetizer. For the main my wife got the Snake River Farms Boneless Short Ribs and I got the Tsukiji Chirasho. If you want the best, most tender short ribs EVER, then order them. They're delicious and tender since they sous vide them for 48 hours. The Tsukiji Chirasho is a platter of different sushi on a gigantic bed of rice. It included two different salmon, two different tuna, uni (which I've never been able to try), a few other options and barracuda. It was all amazing and was such an interesting sushi experience. For the third course we got the Butter Cup Cake and the Salted Caramel Bread Pudding Cup that were both delicious anf I considered linking the cup clean. We also got to talk to one of the owners who recently took ownership and it was really comforting that he was working with all the staff doing different tasks and learning the business while talking to as many customers as possible. He had some cool ideas and looking forward to going back to try more food! Overall can't recommend this place enough and was very happy for our first (and not last) time eating here
